Scientific Society

The Scientific Society will hold its Sixth Annual Garden Party at 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, 18 June, in the the Scholars' Garden, Peterhouse. Tickets may be obtained by writing to Mr Peter McKeown at Magdalene College, enclosing a cheque for £5 payable to the 'Cambridge University Scientific Society'. All those who are interested are invited.

The Scientific Society of the University, founded in 1995, has the goal of promoting all branches of science both within the University and to interested parties outside. Patrons of the Society include Professor Sir Michael Atiyah, OM, FRS, Professor Antony Hewish, FRS, Professor Salvador Moncada, FRS, Professor Max Perutz, FRS, and Professor Heinz Wolff. Enquiries about the Society may be made to Ms Rend Shakir, St Catharine's College. Membership is open to all members of the University, and to persons outside the University at the discretion of the Committee. Meetings of the Society will resume in October, and will be announced in the Reporter.
