Pembroke College

DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT

Pembroke College has established a highly successful development programme which has raised over £13 million in its first stage. It has also developed an innovative Corporate Partnership Scheme. The College is now seeking to appoint an exceptional individual to build on the achievements of the outgoing Deputy Director of Development and to play a central role in driving the next stage of fundraising forward. The post, which is based in Cambridge, supports the Development Director, who is one of the most experienced practitioners in the field, and assists him in managing the development programme as a whole. The post-holder will also take the lead in a number of fundraising areas, including alumni, legacies, and foundations.

Requirements include education to degree level, strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop relations through face to face meetings, and the capability to organize telephone and mail programmes. Strong administrative skills are essential as is the ability to manage staff and to contribute to strategic planning. Also needed is the presence and maturity to deputize for the Director. A knowledge of the University and experience of development are highly desirable but not essential. The salary will be c. £35,000, although a higher salary may be available for an exceptional candidate.
