COLLEGE LECTURERSHIP IN GEOGRAPHY

The College proposes to appoint a Lecturer in Physical Geography to provide six hours of tutorial teaching a week, for three years from 1 October 2000. The Lecturer will be expected to teach for the Honour Moderations in Physical Geography (hydrology, climatology, ecology, and geomorphology), Ideas in Geography, and Techniques in Geography; and for the Honour School, Paper I (The Geographical Environment - Physical) and Paper III (Philosophy, Practice, and Nature of Geography). The successful candidate will also be expected to supervise work for the Geography dissertation for those undergraduates choosing Physical Geography topics, and to contribute to the teaching of any optional subjects in which he or she has specialist knowledge. The successful candidate will also be expected to help organize in-College seminars for Geography undergraduates and to assist with admissions and pastoral care. The salary will depend on circumstances, but will be in the range £4,353-£7,681 a year. Other benefits are also offered.
