Unestablished appointments in the University Offices: Notice

In their Notice of 25 October 1999 (Reporter, p. 102) the Council announced appointments to the unestablished posts of Director of Management Information Services, Director of Finance, and Director of Personnel, and also the creation of the unestablished posts of Director of Research Services and Director of Health and Safety.

The Council are now in a position to announce appointments to the latter two posts: Mr D. S. Secher, M.A., Ph.D., CAI, as Director of Research Services from 1 March 2000; and Mrs S. J. Cooper, B.A., Oxford, M.Phil., Surrey, as Director of Health and Safety from 1 May 2000. Both appointments will be for three years in the first instance. The Director of Research Services will be responsible for managing and enhancing the research support and development services provided by the central offices to academic staff, for overseeing the work of the Wolfson Industrial Liaison Office, and for the management of the University's subsidiary companies responsible for intellectual property exploitation and technology transfer. The Director of Health and Safety will be responsible for enhancing, promoting, and maintaining an effective health and safety management system.
