Girton College

COLLEGE LECTURESHIP IN PHILOSOPHY

Girton College wishes to appoint a College Lecturer and Official Fellow in Philosophy, from 1 October 2000 for a fixed term of five years. The Lecturer will be required to teach in small group supervisions for twelve hours a week during academic terms, and to take a full part in the administrative aspects of College teaching in Philosophy, including direction of studies and admissions. The Lecturer will be expected to teach a range of subjects across all three years of the Philosophy Tripos. Some of the teaching will be undertaken for other Colleges. Candidates must have an enthusiasm for teaching, combined with proven ability and continuing interest in research. The stipend, which is pensionable under the Universities Superannuation Scheme, is on a College Lecturer scale, starting at £16,286 a year. Initial placement on the scale will be determined by age and experience.
