Report of the Council on the office of Commissary: Notice

14 February 2000

The Council have considered the remarks made at the Discussion on 1 February 2000 (p. 448) on their Report on the office of Commissary (p. 348). The Council have noted the expressions of support in principle for the proposal and will report further to the Regent House on it.

The Council have referred the remarks of Ms L. A. Marinaccio to the Board of Graduate Studies and to her College.

The omission of the customary introductory line to the Report ('The COUNCIL beg leave to report to the University as follows:') was a drafting error which the Council regret; it does not represent a change of practice.

The Council wish to take this opportunity to correct any impression that they have decided to propose changes to the arrangements for Discussions. The Council have indeed agreed to review the arrangements for Discussions and to seek the views of members of the Regent House. That review has not yet reached the stage of a draft Report and the Council do not expect to publish a Report until March 2000 at the earliest.
