Supplementary payments for Professors, 1999: Notice

The General Board, in their Report on the recruitment, reward, and retention of academic and academic-related officers (Reporter, 1997-98, pp. 804-17), set out a revised scheme for the award of supplementary payments for Professors with the purpose of rewarding Professors and retaining them in Cambridge in view of the importance of maintaining the academic vitality of the University. The recommendations of the Report were approved by Grace 8 of 25 November 1998.

As provided for in the Report, the Vice-Chancellor, with the assistance of an Advisory Committee comprising of Dr O. S. O'Neill, N, Chairman, Professor Sir Keith O'Nions (University of Oxford), Professor R. B. Heap, ED, Professor Sir Tony Wrigley, CC, and Dr J. Rawson (University of Oxford), has carried out an assessment of applications received from eligible Professors. The Committee reviewed personal statements, curricula vitae, lists of publications, referees' reports, and the information provided by the applicants, in accordance with Statute D, II, 2, for the academical year 1997-98. The Vice-Chancellor has informed all applicants of the outcome.
