Historical Tripos, Part II, 2001: Notice

The Faculty Board of History give notice that they have amended their announcement of Special Subjects for Papers 1 and 2 of Part II of the Historical Tripos, 2001 (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 295, Reporter, 1998-99, p. 692), by amending the titles as follows:

The Board also give notice that they have amended their announcement of subjects for Papers 16, 19, 20, and 24 in Part II of the Historical Tripos, 2001 (Statutes and Ordinances, pp. 295, 296, Reporter, 1998-99, p. 692), as follows:

Paper 16.
    from No subject specified
to Middle Eastern and Islamic history, 7 (Paper Is. 23 of the Oriental Studies Tripos)
Paper 19.
    from State and economy in industrial society: Britain and the USA since 1850
to The politics of gender: Britain and Ireland, 1790-1990
Paper 20.

Candidates for Part II in 2001, who have previously taken Part I of the Historical Tripos and

(a) who did not offer in that Part a paper falling mainly in the period before 1750, may meet the requirement to take a pre-1750 paper in Part II by offering Paper 16;

(b) who did not offer in that Part a paper in European History, may meet the requirement to take a European History paper in Part II by offering Paper 16.

The Faculty Board are satisfied that no candidate's preparation will be affected by these announcements.
