Lucy Cavendish College

FELLOW AND COLLEGE LECTURER IN BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES

Lucy Cavendish College invites applications from women* for a Fellowship and College Lectureship in Biomedical Sciences, with a preference for Physiology, with effect from 1 September 2000. Lucy Cavendish College is a College for mature women (twenty-one years and more) and has a growing number of medical students. The College is one of the three Cambridge Colleges that will be admitting students to the new Cambridge Graduate Course in Medicine commencing in October 2001. The appointment will be for three years with the possibility of renewal for a further two years, and is subject to the Statutes and Ordinances of the College.

The stipend of the College Lecturer, which can be pensionable under the Universities Superannuation Scheme, will be at a point on a scale beginning at £17,238 (equivalent to the University Assistant Lecturer scale), depending on age and experience.

COMPUTER OFFICER

Lucy Cavendish College wishes to appoint a Computer Officer whose primary role will be to provide frontline support to the Fellows, staff, and students of the College. The position requires someone who can bring enthusiasm, dedication, and experience to the post. The successful candidate will play a leading role in the provision and enhancement of effective support services. The post requires a good working knowledge of networking, PC hardware, Windows NT, Microsoft Office 97/2000 (including Access), e-mail, and WWW. Knowledge of web development, Windows NT4 Server, and UNIX/Linux is necessary. The person appointed is expected to have good verbal and written communication skills. The appointment will be equivalent to Grade III of the University Computer Officer scale, depending on experience (salary scale: £18,915 to £24,479).
