History of Art Tripos, Part I, 2000: Notice

The Faculty Board of Architecture and History of Art give notice that the form of the examination for Part I of the History of Art Tripos, which will be held for the first time in 2000, will be as follows:

Paper 1

The paper will be three hours long. There will be ten visual analysis questions of which candidates will be required to answer five.

Papers 2 and 4

Each of these papers will be three hours long. For each paper there will be twelve essay questions and candidates will be required to answer a total of four, two from Section A and two from Section B.

Papers 3 and 5

Each of these papers will be three hours long. Candidates will be required to answer all six visual analysis questions on each of these papers.

In addition, candidates will be required to submit an essay of not more than 5,000 words on art and architecture in or around Cambridge, by not later than 26 May 2000.
