Arundhati Roy, winner of the 1997 Booker Prize, will give the twenty-second Nehru Memorial Lecture, entitled The cost of living, at 5 p.m. on Monday, 8 November, in the Lady Mitchell Hall, Sidgwick Avenue. The Lecture is open to all.
Dr Peter Linehan, of St John's College, will lecture on Culture and anarchy in thirteenth-century Castile: the life and times of Archbishop 'Gudiel' of Toledo, at 5 p.m. in the Mill Lane Lecture Rooms, as follows:
