ASSISTANT CURATOR (PETROLOGICAL COLLECTIONS) IN THE MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY

An Assistant Curator is required to carry out the sorting, identification, evaluation, computer cataloguing, and re-storage of the University's petrological collections. The post-holder will work under the direction of the Acting Curator of the Mineral Collection, in close collaboration with the Assistant Curator (Mineral Collections). The post-holder will be expected to have a degree in Geology, and excellent competence in the identification of rocks in hand specimen and thin section, in addition to good keyboard skills. This is a fixed-term post of twelve months. The salary will be from £18,915 to £24,479 a year (Grade 2 on the academic-related administrative staff salary scale).
