SIR HUGH MAXWELL CASSON, C.H., K.C.V.O., M.A., Honorary Fellow of St John's College, architect, and formerly President of the Royal Academy, died on Monday, 16 August 1999, aged 89 years.

DONALD DENMAN, M.Sc., Ph.D., Hon. D.Sc., FRICS, Professor of Land Economy, 1968-78, Fellow of Pembroke College, 1962-78, died on Thursday, 2 September 1999, aged 88 years.

JOHN HOLLOWAY, M.A., Litt.D., D.Phil., Oxford, D.Litt., Aberdeen, FRSL, Emeritus Professor of Modern English, Fellow of Queens' College, died on Sunday, 29 August 1999, aged 79 years.

DAVID JOHN KELLEY, M.A., Ph.D., Fellow of Trinity College, formerly University Lecturer in French, died on Sunday, 26 September 1999, aged 58 years.

CHRISTOPHER MARTIN LOCKWOOD, B.A., M.B., B.Chir., FRCP, MRCP, member of Queens' College, University Reader in Therapeutic Immunology, died on Friday, 10 September 1999, aged 53 years.

SIR RALPH RILEY, D.Sc., FRS, Emeritus Fellow of Wolfson College, and Fellow of the College, 1967-92, died on Friday, 27 August 1999, aged 74 years.
