On the recommendation of the Faculty Board of Modern and Medieval Languages the General Board have agreed to permit Miss M.H. Evans, of Trinity College, to offer Italian instead of Hungarian in Part IB of the Modern and Medieval Languages Tripos in 2000, notwithstanding the provisions of Regulation 23(a) for the Tripos. Miss Evans offered Hungarian in Part IA, and would normally be required to offer that language again in Part IB; however, she wishes to switch to Italian, a language in which the Faculty Board are satisfied that she has the necessary background.
