Research into Ageing Awards

Research into Ageing is a registered charity dedicated to improving the quality of life of older people through the funding of research into the causes and incidence of morbidity in old age, and into the ageing process itself. Applications for funds are invited for:

Research Project Grants for salaries, equipment and running costs for a project of one to three years.

Prize Ph.D. Studentships for exceptional students to enter the field of ageing research, and which include a generous stipend (£12,500 for 1999-2000 start), university fees at the 'home student' rate (to a ceiling of £3,000 a year), and expenses to cover the cost of essential equipment, consumables, and conference attendance (up to a total of £3,000 a year).

Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Fellowships for applicants with no more than ten year's postdoctoral experience, and which are tenable for up to three years at any suitable research unit within the UK and which cover personal support, equipment and expenses.

Application is initially by the submission of a two page outline proposal, a form for which purpose is available on request by post or e-mail.
