Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning: Review Committee

The Council, after consultation with the General Board and the Board of Continuing Education, have appointed a Review Committee with the terms of reference given.

Terms of reference

In the light of national and international developments:

(a) To review the University's policies and current and potential activities in continuing education, lifelong learning and comparable areas, after consultation with the appropriate authorities in the University, including Faculties and Departments, and the Board of Continuing Education.
(b) To prepare a framework for the further development of these activities, for consideration by the Council and the General Board, and the Board of Continuing Education.
(c) To make recommendations about the related administrative, managerial, and financial arrangements.
(d) To report to the Council and the General Board, if possible by the end of 1999.

The members of the Review Committee are:

As required by the terms of reference, the Committee will be seeking views from the Councils of the Schools, Faculties and Departments, and other University institutions. Those who wish additionally to submit individual views are welcome to do so, and it would be helpful if such views could be sent, in writing, to Dr Clark, University Offices, The Old Schools, Cambridge, CB2 1TN, by 30 October 1999.
