Appointments and reappointments

The following appointments and reappointments have been made:

Appointments

University Lecturers

Chemical Engineering. Mr M. Kraft, M.Sc., Kaiserslautern, Ph.D., Karlsruhe, appointed from 1 July 1999 for three years.

Engineering. Mr J. R. Standing, B.Sc., Dundee, M.Sc., Ph.D., London, appointed from 1 October 1999 for five years.

Management Studies. Mr M. G. Pollitt, M.A., SID, D.Phil., Oxford, appointed from 1 October 1999 for three years.

English. Mr P. D. Giles, M.A., D.Phil., Oxford, appointed from 1 October 1999 to the retiring age.

Computer Officers

Engineering. Mr M. J. Gray, B.A., CTH, appointed Computer Officer, Grade I, from 1 June 1999 for three years. Mr P. D. Whitehouse, appointed Computer Officer, Grade III, from 1 January 1999 for five years.

Head of Department

Computer Laboratory. The General Board, on the recommendation of the Information Technology Syndicate and the Computer Science Syndicate, have appointed Professor I. M. Leslie, CHR, to be Head of the Computer Laboratory from 1 October 1999 for five years.

Reappointments

Senior Language Teaching Officer

Modern and Medieval Languages. Mr A. G. Burnage, G, reappointed from 15 July 1999 for five years.

Advisory Officer

Estate Management and Building Service. Mr D. J. Pilgrim reappointed Advisory Officer, Grade I, from 1 June 1999 to the retiring age.

Computer Officer

Management Information Services Division. Mr M. Buckland reappointed Computer Officer, Grade I, from 1 August 1999 for five years.
