The College proposes to elect, in February 2000, one or two Junior Research Fellows, known as Fellows by Examination. The successful candidate(s) should have a good Honours degree or its equivalent and have completed, or be near to completing, a doctorate or other postgraduate research, and will already have demonstrated outstanding promise in his/her chosen field. In any event a candidate must not have com- pleted more than four years' graduate study by 1 October 1999. Each Fellowship is tenable for three years at a stipend of £10,499 a year (pay award pending). A Research Fellow is a member of the governing body of the College and is entitled to free lunches and dinners, to a research allowance, and either to free rooms or to a discretionary housing allowance.
