Library Syndicate: Notice

The regulations for the Library Syndicate (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 607) have been amended as set out below. The purpose of these amendments is to provide for student representation on the Medicine Sub-syndicate (such representation already exists in the case of the other two Sub-syndicates, the Science Sub-syndicate and the Law Sub-syndicate). The regulations have been amended as follows:

Regulation 9.

By inserting after sub-paragraph (d) the following additional sub-paragraph:

(e) one member of the University in statu pupillari, normally a graduate, co-opted by the Sub-syndicate.

By amending the last sentence so as to read:

Members in classes (d) and (e) shall serve until 31 December of the year in which they are co-opted or of the following year, as the Sub-syndicate shall decide at the time of their co-optation, provided that if a member in class (e) ceases to be in statu pupillari he or she shall thereupon cease to be a member in that class.

Regulation 11.

By amending sub-paragraph (c) so as to read:

(c) the provisions of Statute K, 20 concerning reserved business shall apply to each of the Sub-syndicates as if it were a body constituted by Statute; the election of the Chairman and the co-optation of members of each Sub-syndicate shall also be reserved.
