Churchill College

COLLEGE LECTURESHIP IN ENGINEERING

Applications are invited for a College Lectureship in Engineering, tenable from 1 October 1999. The candidate should have a Ph.D. Degree or an equivalent qualification/experience in any branch of engineering, and will have demonstrated an independent capacity to make a successful academic career. His/her duties will include providing a focus for recruitment and teaching in engineering within the College and acting as a link with companies wishing to sponsor our students. The College has established excellent links at a senior level with major UK and international engineering companies. The ideal candidate will be able to provide supervision teaching in Part I of the Engineering Tripos, during the teaching year. Short-listed candidates will be invited to discuss research links they may wish to forge with any one of the research groups within the University's Department of Engineering. The postholder will be elected to a Fellowship at Churchill College.

The post is tenable for three years, renewable for a further two, in the first instance. The salary will be on the University Assistant Lecturer scale, currently £16,665-£21,815 a year, depending on age and experience.
