Examinations for the M.Phil. Degree (one-year course) in Finance, Economics with Finance, and Economics and Development

[An amendment to this notice is published in Reporter, 16 June 1999.]

On the recommendation of the Faculty Board of Economics and Politics and the Management Studies Syndicate, the General Board and the Board of Graduate Studies have approved the following changes in examinations for the M.Phil. Degree (one-year course); these changes will take effect from 1 October 1999. The existing course under the title Finance, administered by the Degree Committee for the Faculty of Economics and Politics, will be replaced by a new course, also entitled Finance, which will be administered by the Degree Committee for the Judge Institute of Management Studies; the existing regulations for the examination in this subject are accordingly replaced by new regulations. A new subject, entitled Economics with Finance, has been approved as a subject for the M.Phil. Degree, and regulations for an examination in this subject have been approved; the course leading to this examination will be administered by the Degree Committee for the Faculty of Economics and Politics. Finally, the examination in Economics and Development is retitled 'Economics with Development', to reflect the emphasis placed on the different elements of the course; the regulations for the examination in this subject are amended accordingly.
