Lucy Cavendish College

GRADUATE TUTOR

The Governing Body invites applications from women candidates1 for the post of Graduate Tutor. The Graduate Tutor has responsibility for the admission of graduate students and shares their pastoral care with the Assistant Graduate Tutor, and the Governing Body would expect to appoint a candidate with strong research interests of her own. Lucy Cavendish College is a women's college with 180 students, of whom about half are graduates and half are mature undergraduates. It is important that applicants should share and support the aims of the College and should have experience of the Cambridge tutorial system.

The Graduate Tutor is a Fellow of the College and the stipend will be £5,500 a year with the usual Fellowship privileges. The appointment is from 1 September 1999 for three years in the first instance, with the possibility of renewal. The College has a preference for applicants who already hold a University and/or College post.

Applications should be sent to the President, Lucy Cavendish College, Cambridge, CB3 0BU, by Monday, 14 June 1999, and should include a full curriculum vitae and the names and addresses of two referees. Applicants should ask their referees to write directly to the President by the same date. Interviews will be held on Monday, 21 June 1999. For further details of the post please write to the President.

1 By the Employment Act 1989, the College has exemption from the provisions of the Sex Discrimination Act 1975.
