Elected into Honorary Fellowships:

The Hon. Justice Andrew Kwok Nang Li, CBE, MA, LLM, JP, Chief Justice of Hong Kong, Fitzwilliam College, 1967-70.

Professor Norman John Greville Pounds, MA, PhD, Fitzwilliam House 1931-35, Senior Tutor of Fitzwilliam House 1944-50.

Elected into a Fellowship in Class C for the purpose of research in History:

Paul Simon Warde, BA, postgraduate student at Fitzwilliam College and at the Cambridge Group for the History of Population and Social Structure.

Elected into Visiting Fellowships:

Professor James D. Shilling, PhD, Purdue, Chairman of the Department of Real Estate and Urban Land Economics at the School of Business, University of Wisconsin, from August to October 1999.

Bronwyn F. Bartal, LLM, Melbourne, Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria and of the High Court of Australia, from July to September 1999.

FELLOWSHIP AND COLLEGE LECTURESHIP IN MATHEMATICS

Fitzwilliam College invites applications for a Fellowship and College Lectureship in Mathematics from 1 October 1999. The post is primarily for a Pure Mathematician or a Statistician, but applications from Applied Mathematicians will not be excluded. The successful candidate will be required to teach undergraduates for the Cambridge Mathematical Tripos. The appointment, which is open to men and women, will be for a period of three years with the possibility of reappointment for two years. Further periods of reappointment may be possible, but will depend on the College's continued need for the post as well as on the individual's performance in it.

The pensionable stipend of a College Lecturer will be at a point in the range £16,655 to £21,815 a year, depending on age and experience.
