Modern and Medieval Languages Tripos: Hungarian and Polish

Following the decision to discontinue the provision of Hungarian and Polish as regular subjects of examination in the Modern and Medieval Languages Tripos (see Reporter, 1997-98, p. 453), the Faculty Board of Modern and Medieval Languages give notice that papers in these languages will be set for the last time as follows:

For Part IA, in the Easter Term 2000.

For Part IB and Part II, in the Easter Term 2001.

From October 2000, no teaching will be given for Hungarian or Polish papers for Part IA, and from October 2001 no teaching will be given for Part IB or Part II. Students intending to offer Hungarian or Polish in Part IA in 2000 and in Part IB in 2001 should be advised that they will not be able to continue with either language in Part II.
