Corpus Christi College

ELECTION OF PRESIDENT

The Fellows of Corpus Christi College are seeking a new President in succession to Sir Keith Thomas who will retire on 31 August 2000. Anyone who wishes to apply, express an interest, or suggest a candidate, is invited to contact the Vice-President, Professor D. G. CORPUS CHRISTI VISITING FELLOWSHIP(S) 2000-01

The College proposes, if suitable candidates offer themselves, to elect to a Corpus Christi Visiting Fellowship for each term in the academical year 2000-01. The Fellowship is intended for persons of high academic distinction, either from abroad or from the UK, who wish to pursue academic study and research as a member of the College. It is tenable for one, two, or three terms during the year. Preference will be given to candidates whose work is close to the academic interests of one or more Fellows of the College.

A Visiting Fellow is entitled to free luncheon and dinner during all periods when the kitchen is open and to full membership of the Senior Common Room. The College hopes to be able to provide the Fellow with shared study accommodation and will provide practical aid in finding accommodation in Oxford.

Applicants should write to the President's Secretary, Corpus Christi College, Oxford, OX1 4JF, before 1 November 1999, enclosing a curriculum vitae, a list of publications, a programme of work and the names of three referees. It is their responsibility to ask their referees to send their references direct by the same date.

NON-STIPENDIARY RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS

Non-stipendiary Junior Research Fellowship in Science or Mathematics

The College proposes to elect a non-stipendiary Junior Research Fellow in one of the biological, chemical, or physical sciences (excluding clinical medicine), or in mathematics, for two years from 1 October 1999. Applicants should be engaged in postdoctoral research in Oxford and have independent support. The Fellow will be entitled to free lunch and dinner during all periods when the kitchen is open and full membership of the Senior Common Room. There are allowances for hospitality (£222) and small research expenses (£309), and a housing allowance of £1,959 a year.

Applicants should write by 23 April 1999 to the President's Secretary at the address below, enclosing their curriculum vitae, a list of publications, and the names of three referees. It is the responsibility of the applicants to ask their referees to send references direct to the President's Secretary to arrive not later than that date.

Non-stipendiary Medical Research Fellowship

The College proposes to elect a non-stipendiary Medical Research Fellow for three years from 1 October 1999. Applicants should be engaged in research in the field of Medical Science, but may or may not be medically qualified. The Fellow will be entitled to free lunch and dinner during all periods when the kitchen is open and full membership of the Senior Common Room. There are allowances for hospitality and small research expenses.
