FIXED-TERM DARBY FELLOWSHIP IN APPLIED MATHEMATICS

The College invites applications from graduates, either women or men, for a three-year fixed-term Darby Fellowship in Applied Mathematics, with effect from 1 October 1999 to 30 September 2002. Applicants are expected to be at an early stage of an academic career but should have some experience of teaching Mathematics at university level. Consideration will be given to research achievement and potential. The Fellow will be required to provide tutorial teaching for Moderations and Finals in Mathematics and in Physics. It is expected that the person appointed will be pursuing research in Physical Applied Mathematics and/or Differential Equations. The salary ranges from £19,197 to £22,726. Full common-room rights are given and accommodation in College may be offered coupled with wardenship duties. There are allowances towards teaching and research costs.

EPA CEPHALOSPORIN JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP

The College invites applications from men and women for an EPA Cephalosporin Junior Research Fellowship in Medical, Biological, or Chemical Sciences. The appointment will be tenable for three years from 1 October 1999 until 30 September 2002. On 1 October 1999 applicants should not have accumulated more than six years of full-time postgraduate study or research, excluding periods of professional training or preparation for a second undergraduate degree. If there are special factors that should be brought to the College's attention, these should be stated briefly in the application. In making the appointment, regard will be had to research achievement and potential, but also to teaching experience or professional qualifications. The successful candidate may be required to teach four hours a week during term for the College.
