Statute approved: Notice

22 February 1999

The Registrary has received notice from the Clerk of the Privy Council that Her Majesty the Queen, at a Council held on 10 February 1999, was pleased to approve the amendments of Statute A which were submitted under the Common Seal of the University in accordance with Grace 2 of 29 July 1998. These amendments introduce two changes in the provisions of Chapter VII of the Statute, relating to the Board of Scrutiny: the first concerns the Board's power to consult documents relating to the University Press in the course of their inquiries, while the second concerns eligibility for service on the Board and modifies the restriction on re-election (see the Council's Report, dated 15 June 1998, on the statutory provisions for the Board of Scrutiny and on regulations for the Board, Reporter, 1997-98, p. 802).

Following the approval of these amendments of Statute, the regulations for the Board of Scrutiny which were proposed in the Council's Report now come into effect.
