THE BENCE PRITCHARD BEQUEST

Under the will of the late Miss F. L. Pritchard a fund has been established for the purpose of augmenting scholarships of students at the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge and of Art students of exceptional ability. The conditions of the Bequest require that applicants must have received their education at a school, college, or university in or near Bristol and must be in need of additional financial assistance. Preference is given to students who were born and/or have been resident in Bristol. If funds permit, consideration will also be given to students who received their education in or near Bristol and were born and/or were resident elsewhere in the former county of Avon, or Gloucestershire, Somerset, or Devon.

Applications are invited in respect of the academical year 1998-99 from students following first degree courses who are experiencing financial hardship which is adversely affecting their studies. Application forms are available from the Director of Education, Awards Section, PO Box 1111, Avon House, The Haymarket, Bristol, BS99 2EZ: they must be returned by 5 March 1999.
