Hertford College

BARING SENIOR SCHOLARSHIPS

The College proposes to award up to three Senior Scholarships at a value of £500 a year with certain dining rights. These Scholarships will be tenable from 1 October 1999 for two years in the first instance, and may be extended to three years. They are intended to be supplementary awards, open to men and women graduates of any university (including any College at Oxford) who are about to begin working for a higher degree or diploma at Oxford. Candidates graduating this summer are eligible for election. They are also open to graduate students at Hertford College who have already begun working for their higher degrees. There is no restriction as to subject.

CARRERAS SENIOR STUDENTSHIP

The College proposes to award a Carreras Senior Studentship in Natural Science at a value of £500 a year, with certain dining rights. The Studentship will be tenable from 1 October 1999 for two years in the first instance, and may be extended to three years. This is intended to be a supplementary award, open to men and women graduates of any university (including any College at Oxford) who are about to begin working for a higher degree or diploma at Oxford in any of the natural sciences. Candidates graduating this summer are eligible for election. It is also open to graduate students at Hertford College who have already begun working for their higher degrees.

Applications for the above awards (six copies) should reach the College Secretary, Hertford College, Oxford, OX1 3BW, by 22 February 1999, including a statement of the candidate's qualifications and intentions. Two referees should be asked to send references also to the College Secretary by 22 February 1999. There is no application form.
