Cambridge Research for the Environment (CRE)

RESEARCH ASSISTANT

Applications are invited for the post of Research Assistant in the area of ecological economics and environmental policy. The successful applicant will be required to work independently and as a member of a small team and will assist in the day to day management of a major international initiative on environmental valuation and policy. This requires close co-operation amongst European partners and so good communication skills are essential and fluency in French would be desirable; Italian and/or Spanish would be useful. The post-holder will assist in the smooth conduct of project workshops abroad as well as in organizing plenary meetings in Cambridge. He or she will deal with enquiries about CRE projects and will assist in the production of publicity material and books, the compilation of research reports, and the maintenance of an internet site. Applicants should have a degree in ecological or environmental economics or similar experience. Previous experience in research and developing research proposals would be an advantage.

The salary will be on the Research Assistant scale, £15,735 to £17,570 a year, depending on age and experience. The appointment will be for twelve months with the possibility of extension.
