Graces to be submitted to the Regent House at a Congregation on 12 December 1998

The Council have sanctioned the submission of the following Graces to the Regent House at a Congregation to be held on 12 December 1998:

1. That the title of the degree of Master of Arts, honoris causa, be conferred under Statute B, IV upon Mrs SHEILA DORIS OVERHILL, formerly of the Office of the Financial Board and of the Finance Division of the University Offices.1

That the following person be admitted to the degree of Master of Arts by incorporation:

2. NICOLA MARGARET PADFIELD, Fellow and President of Fitzwilliam College, Deputy University Advocate, Master of Arts of the University of Oxford (1989).

That the following persons be admitted to the degree of Master of Arts under the provisions of Statute B, III, 6:

3. JONATHAN PINE ALLEN, of Trinity Hall, University Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Engineering.

4. NICHOLAS STANISLAUS BASKEY, Fellow, Treasurer, and Bursar of Pembroke College.

5. NICHOLAS JAMES BUTTERFIELD, Fellow of Selwyn College, University Lecturer in the Department of Earth Sciences.

6. PAUL WILLIAM COOPER, of Selwyn College, University Lecturer in the Department of Education.

7. MARIA TIPPETT, Fellow of Churchill College.

8. PAUL WOUDHUYSEN, of Emmanuel College, Keeper of Manuscripts and Printed Books at the Fitzwilliam Museum.

9. STEPHEN RALPH LARGE, Associate Lecturer in the Faculty of Clinical Medicine.

1 It is expected that the title of the degree will be conferred at a Congregation in the Easter Term 1999.
