REGULATIONS FOR EXAMINATIONS: NOTICE BY THE GENERAL BOARD

The General Board give notice that, on the recommendation of the Faculty Board or other authority concerned, the regulations for certain University examinations have been amended as follows:

Classical Tripos, Part I

The supplementary regulations for Paper 4 and Paper 7 of Part I of the Classical Tripos (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 254) have been amended as set out below. The purpose of these amendments is to clarify the examination requirements for candidates who take these papers as part of the Oriental Studies Tripos, Part I. The regulations have been amended as follows:

Paper 4. Passages for translation from Greek and Latin authors

By amending the penultimate sentence so as to read:

Candidates offering classical Greek for Part IB of the Modern and Medieval Languages Tripos or for Part I of the Oriental Studies Tripos will be required to translate four passages, three from Section A and one from Section B.

Paper 7. Greek and Roman history

By amending the penultimate sentence so as to read:

Candidates for the Modern and Medieval Languages Tripos or the Oriental Studies Tripos will not be expected to show knowledge of both Greek and Roman history.
