University offices: Vacancy

Applications are invited for the following University office in the Department of Clinical Veterinary Medicine:

University Lecturer in Veterinary Microbiology

University Lecturer in Veterinary Microbiology, in the Department of Clinical Veterinary Medicine, to take up appointment as soon as possible. Applicants should be science, veterinary, or medical graduates and have a Ph.D. or equivalent higher degree. The Lecturer will be expected to teach principles underlying pathogenesis and diagnosis of bacterial infections to veterinary students, and to establish an independent research programme within the Centre for Veterinary Science closely associated with Professor Duncan Maskell's active research group. The appointment will be for three to five years in the first instance, depending on experience, with the possibility of reappointment to the retirement age.

The pensionable scale of stipends for a University Lecturer is £20,107 a year, rising by eleven annual increments to £31,010. The scale of stipends is subject to annual review.
