Department of Pure Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics

MAX NEWMAN RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP

Applications are invited for this Fellowship, tenable for three years from 1 October 1999, to carry out research in Pure Mathematics (including Probability and the mathematical aspects of Computer Science). The scale of stipends is from £16,655 a year at age twenty-six to £20,107 at age thirty. In addition, the Fellow will hold a part-time consultancy at Government Communications Headquarters, Cheltenham, for two months each summer, with a supplementary stipend of £3,000 a year, and a generous allowance for academic travel. Appointment is restricted to British nationals, although in the case of an exceptionally well qualified candidate this restriction may be relaxed.
