The following appointments and reappointment have been made:

Appointments

University Lecturer

Judge Institute of Management Studies. Mr R. A. Chatterjee, Ph.D., B.Sc., London, appointed from 1 October 1998 for three years.

Assistant Director of Research

Astronomy. Mr P. Madau, B.Sc., Florence, M.Sc., Ph.D., International School for Advanced Studies, Trieste, appointed from 1 April 1999 for five years.

Assistant Treasurer

University Offices (Finance Division) Mr K. Sykes, B.A., PEM, appointed from 19 October 1998 for three years.

Junior Assistant Secretary

Continuing Education. Ms E. M. Hendry, B.A., Sussex, appointed Junior Assistant Secretary, Grade I, from 1 October 1997 for three years.

Visiting Fellows

Criminology. Professor Allison Morris, Director of the Institute of Criminology, Victoria University, Wellington, New Zealand, appointed to a Visiting Fellowship in the Institute of Criminology for the calendar year 1999. Mr Gerry Rose appointed to a Visiting Fellowship in the Institute of Criminology for two years from 1 October 1998, with the additional title of Senior Research Fellow.

Reappointment

Chemical Engineering. Dr S. S. S. Cardoso, PEM, reappointed from 1 January 1999 for two years.
