Scarlet days: Notice

The Vice-Chancellor reminds members of the University that Sunday, 1 November (Commemoration of Benefactors) is a 'scarlet' day, and Doctors in the several Faculties are requested to wear their festal gowns in public on that day.

In accordance with Regulation 3 for Academical Dress (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 184) the Vice-Chancellor also gives notice that he has designated the Benefactors' Ceremony on Saturday, 31 October as an occasion when festal gowns should be worn.
