The Governing Body of Wolfson College, Oxford, is beginning the search for a new President to take office on the retirement of Sir David Smith, F.R.S., F.R.S.E., in September 2000.
Wolfson College admits students to read for advanced degrees and diplomas in the University of Oxford. The President exercises general supervision over the academic affairs and management of the College and over the well-being and discipline of its students.
The Governing Body would be pleased to hear in confidence from individuals who might like to suggest the names of appropriate persons. Letters of recommendation should be addressed to the Vicegerent, Dr M. J. O. Francis, Wolfson College, Oxford, OX2 6UD.
