Election, appointments, and reappointments

The following election, appointments, and reappointments have been made:

Election

Professor G. S. Yip, M.A., M, M.B.A., Cranfield, D.B.A., Harvard, Adjunct Professor in the Anderson School at UCLA, elected Beckwith Professor of Management Studies from 1 September 1998.

Appointments

Heads of Departments

Archaeology. The General Board, on the recommendation of the Faculty Board of Archaeology and Anthropology, have appointed Dr C. M. Hills, N, Head of the Department from 1 September 1998 to 30 September 1999.

Chemical Engineering. The General Board, on the recommendation of the Chemical Engineering Syndicate, have appointed Dr H. A. Chase, M, Head of the Department from 1 October 1998 for five years.

History of Art. The General Board, on the recommendation of the Faculty Board of Architecture and History of Art, have appointed Dr P. Binski, CAI, Head of the Department from 1 January 1999 for three years.

Surgery. The General Board, on the recommendation of the Faculty Board of Clinical Medicine, have appointed Professor J. A. Bradley Head of the Department from 1 October 1998 for five years.

Reappointments

Heads of Departments

History of Art. The General Board, on the recommendation of the Faculty Board of Architecture and History of Art, have reappointed Dr J. M. Massing, K, Head of the Department from 1 October 1998 to 31 December 1998.

Social and Political Sciences. The General Board, on the recommendation of the Faculty Board of Social and Political Sciences, have reappointed Professor M. P. M. Richards, T, Head of the Department from 1 October 1998 for one year.

Directors

South Asian Studies. The General Board have reappointed Dr G. Johnson, W, Director from 1 October 1998 for five years.

Statistical Laboratory. The General Board have reappointed Professor G. R. Grimmett Director from 1 January 1999 for five years.
