Robinson College

COMPUTER OFFICER

The College has a vacancy for a Computer Officer. The successful applicant will be responsible to the Fellow Computer Officer assisting in the day-to-day management, support, maintenance, and development of computer facilities within the College. The Computer Officer will be expected to advise and give instruction to Fellows, staff, and students regarding the use of office software products, WWW, and e-mail services on a daily basis. The College has a network of IBM compatible PCs which are interconnected using Novell 4.11 networks to file servers and printers, which in turn are connected to the University Data Network. Previous experience with Novell Networks, Unix systems, and WWW servers, together with good communication skills, is essential. The salary scales currently range from £15,159 to £22,785 a year; the starting point will be determined by age and experience. Applicants with appropriate experience who are available for a minimum of twenty-five hours a week may also be considered (on a pro rata basis).
