Jesus College

SENIOR BURSAR

The College wishes to appoint a Senior Bursar to take up his or her duties as soon as possible. The Senior Bursar, who will be elected a Fellow of the College, is responsible to the College Council (and Bursarial Committee) for overall financial strategy. Principal responsibilities include: financial planning and control; investments; long-term fund-raising; overview of the student loans and grant system.

In addition to possessing financial expertise, the Senior Bursar needs to develop a wide-ranging understanding of, and sympathy for, the academic purposes of a College and its role within a University of international repute, in a period of considerable flux. Organizational skills, administrative capacity, and the ability to exercise responsibility and authority within an organization which places a high value on consultation and full discussion with its members at all levels, are of prime importance.

The salary will be up to £42,500 a year (currently subject to review).
