University offices: Vacancies

The University follows an equal opportunities policy and has a policy on arrangements for part-time work.

Applications are invited for the following University offices:

Assistant Registraries in the General Board Division of the University Offices

Two Assistant Registraries in the University Offices to take up appointment as soon as possible, with duties in the following areas:
(a) Research Grants and Contracts: The person appointed will have overall responsibility for grants in the area of the biological and medical sciences, for supporting principal investigators, and for maintaining good relationships with sponsors. He or she will also act as deputy to the Head of the Section in respect of the non-financial parts of the Section's function, and undertake other specific projects.
(b) Resource Allocation: The duties will include assisting in the work of the General Board's Needs Committee which is responsible for the deployment of the resources needed to support the academic programme of the University. The person appointed will support the process of resource allocation to Faculties and Departments, and will be expected to play a substantial role in the development and implementation of policy in this area.

Applicants for both posts should be educated to degree level and have substantial, relevant experience within Higher Education or a related field. For post (a) a degree in a scientific discipline is preferred, and familiarity with academic research and/or experience of legal documents would be an advantage. The appointments will be made for an initial period of three years, unless that requirement is waived by the Council, with the possibility of reappointment to the retiring age.

The pensionable scale of stipends for an Assistant Registrary is £19,371 a year, rising by eleven annual increments to £29,875.
