Lincoln College, Oxford

PRAELECTORSHIP IN MODERN HISTORY

Lincoln College in association with the Faculty of Modern History invites applications from postdoctoral graduates, either women or men, for a two-year Praelectorship in Eighteenth-century History from 1 October 1998, with the possibility of a further fixed term of two years. For the College, the Praelector will be required to teach up to twelve hours a week in term, to set and mark collections, and to participate in Admissions. In the Faculty of Modern History the duties of the Praelector will be to provide up to twelve lectures and classes a year for the Special Subject 'Politics, Reform, and Imperial Crisis, 1774-1785' and the Optional Subject 'Culture, Society, and Politics in England, 1700-1795'.

The salary offered is on the University age-related scale for lecturers (as of 1 April 1997), from £16,045 at age twenty-seven and below to a maximum of £22,785 at the age of thirty-four and above. Common Room rights, a hospitality credit, and a book allowance are offered.
