Telephone services: Notice

In their Notice published on 13 August 1997 (Reporter, 1996-97, p. 1090) the Joint Telecommunications Management Committee announced an extension of the categories of persons eligible for CU2 lines so as to include graduate students living in non-College accommodation. (A CU2 line is for practical purposes a normal Cambridge Cable telephone line which in addition allows free access to the University telephone network from a residential address.) The Committee are now able to announce a further extension of eligibility; until further notice all full-time graduate students, including those living in College accommodation, will be eligible to apply for a CU2 line.

Applications for CU2 lines should be submitted on a form which may be obtained from Cambridge Cable (telephone 0500 565000 or e-mail CU2@camcable.co.uk). An application from a graduate student should be accompanied by the postgraduate supplementary form, duly completed by the applicant's Tutor; this form will be included in the CU2 information pack obtainable from Cambridge Cable.
