Election, appointments, reappointment, and grants of title

The following election, appointments, reappointment, and grants of title have been made:

Election

Mr R. A. Leigh, B.Sc., Ph.D., Wales, F.I.Biol., Deputy Director and Head of the Biochemistry and Physiology Department, IACR-Rothamsted, and Special Professor, Department of Applied Biochemistry and Nutrition, University of Nottingham, elected Professor of Botany from 1 March 1998.

University Computing Service. Ms K. M. Jeary, M.A., Leeds, appointed Computer Officer, Grade II, from 1 August 1997 for five years.

Engineering. Mr P. N. Taylor, B.A., R, appointed Computer Officer, Grade II, from 5 December 1997 for three years.

History. Mr A. Foster, B.Sc., St John's, Canada, appointed Computer Officer, Grade III, from 1 December 1997 for five years.

Pure Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics. Mrs Q. Y. Yu, B.Sc., Zhongshan, appointed Computer Officer, Grade III, from 1 August 1997 for three years.

Assistant Under-Librarian

University Library. Mrs V. Lacey, B.A., Bristol, M.A., Loughborough, appointed from 1 October 1997 for three years.

Technical Officer

Architecture. Mr P. Cook appointed from 1 October 1997 for five years.

Language Teaching Officer

History. Dr N. Wright, M.A., Ph.D., JN, appointed from 1 September 1997 for five years. The duties of the office will concern the Faculties of History, English, Divinity, and Classics.

Grants of Title
