University offices: Vacancy

Applications are invited for the following University office:

University Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Archaeology

University Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Archaeology to take up appointment on 1 May 1998 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is intended to develop the Department's strength in teaching the theory and method of archaeology, and skills in quantitative and statistical analysis would be an advantage.

 The appointment will be for three years in the first instance, with the possibility of reappointment for two years. The statutory limit of tenure of a University Assistant Lectureship is five years, but all holders of the office of University Assistant Lecturer are considered for possible appointment to the office of University Lecturer during the course of their tenure.

 The pensionable scale of stipends is: £16,045 a year, rising by six annual increments to £21,016.
