Lucy Cavendish College

TIMES EDUCATIONAL SUPPLEMENT RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP

Lucy Cavendish College, a College for mature women in the University of Cambridge, invites applications from suitably qualified women graduates wishing to research in the field of educational policy for the one-year TES Research Fellowship, supported by News International, to start in the Michaelmas Term 1998. Those interested in educational policy with respect to teachers - their careers, professionalism, appraisal, training, etc. - will be particularly welcome. We also welcome applications from those who, like many Fellows and students at Lucy Cavendish, have had a career break.

Each candidate should submit a curriculum vitae with an essay of around 1,000 words outlining the topic and methodology she proposes to employ. The successful applicant's essay will be published in the TES and the report of her year's research will be presented at a public seminar in the autumn after completion. The report may also be published separately by the TES. The candidate appointed will be expected to devote a full-time year to the research project and to reside in or near Cambridge during term time for the academical year.

The value of the Fellowship is £12,000 a year with additional College privileges.

Particulars of the post and more information can be obtained from the President's Secretary, Lucy Cavendish College, Cambridge, CB3 0BU. The closing date for applications is 6 February 1998 and interviews will be held in Cambridge on 13 March 1998.
