Examination in Oriental Studies for the M.Phil. Degree (one-year course)

On the recommendation of the Faculty Board of Oriental Studies, and with the approval of the General Board and the Board of Graduate Studies, the regulations for the examination in Oriental Studies for the M.Phil. Degree (one-year course) (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 475) have been amended, with effect from 1 October 1998, as follows:

Section (vii) Japanese Studies

By amending the list of papers so as to read:

*Paper 1. Issues in Japanese history.

*Paper 2. Issues in Japanese society, economy, and politics.

*Paper 3. Themes in Japanese literature and culture.

*Paper 4. Japanese texts.

*Paper 5. Research methods and Japanese bibliography.
