WILLIAM SENIOR STUDENTSHIP IN COMPARATIVE LAW OR LEGAL HISTORY

Clare College invites applications for one William Senior Studentship commencing on 1 October 1998. The Studentship is established for study and research in Comparative Law or Legal History, and is open to graduates in Law or History of any university.

The Studentship is tenable for up to three years (subject to satisfactory progress), and, for a Student in receipt of no other grant, will cover approved University and College fees and subsistence in an amount appropriate to age and qualifications. It is expected, however, that an eligible candidate will normally also apply for a British Academy postgraduate studentship if he or she does not already hold one.

Election to a Studentship is conditional upon the person being, or being admitted by the Board of Graduate Studies as a registered Graduate Student of the University of Cambridge. (Application to the Board should be made as soon as possible through the Cambridge Intercollegiate Graduate Application Scheme. CIGAS forms may be obtained from the Board of Graduate Studies, 4 Mill Lane, Cambridge, CB2 1RZ.)

Applications for the Studentship should include a full account of the applicant's career, a general statement of the proposed course of postgraduate study or research in one of the two specified subjects, and the names and addresses of not fewer than two referees. Applications should be addressed to the Tutor for Graduate Students, Clare College, Cambridge, CB2 1TL. The closing date is 31 January 1998.
