Economics Tripos, Preliminary Examination for Part II, and Economics Qualifying Examination in Elementary Mathematics, 1998: Notice

The Faculty Board of Economics and Politics give notice of the following arrangements for source books and calculators for examinations in 1998:

Source Books

Tripos Part I, Paper 3. Statistics and quantitative methods

 Candidates must bring their own copies of Economic Trends Annual Supplement 1997/98 and the Handbook of International Economic Statistics produced by the Faculty (1996 edition).

Tripos Part II, Paper 3. Economic principles and problems

 Candidates may bring their own copies of the Office of National Statistics (previously known as CSO) UK National Accounts (the 'Blue Book'') 1996 or 1997, Economic Trends Annual Supplement 1995 or 1996 or 1997/98, and the Handbook of International Economic Statistics (1996 edition) produced by the Faculty.

Calculators
Candidates for Tripos Part I, Preliminary Examination for Part II, Tripos Part II, and the Economics Qualifying Examination in Elementary Mathematics in 1998 will be required to use a Casio fx 115 calculator (any version) marked by the University in the approved manner.

 Appropriately marked calculators will be on sale on Wednesday, 8 and Thursday, 9 October 1997 in the Austin Robinson Building. Candidates already possessing a calculator of the approved model can arrange to have it marked.
