Research Posts

Two schemes of appointments provide postdoctoral fellowships for younger scholars and research readerships or fellowships for more experienced scholars.

Research Leave

This scheme provides replacement teaching costs for a period of one term or semester, running consecutively with a matching period funded by the employing institution, to allow scholars in the humanities to bring a sustained piece of research to completion and publication.

Institutional Fellowships

A scheme jointly funded by the HRB and the Funding Councils, which provides awards to meet the costs of research fellowships for a period of 3-4 years, in support of major projects of a collaborative and interdisciplinary nature within the humanities.

These awards are available for advanced research at postdoctoral (or equivalent) level only.
